Document Time Passing.

My friends and I wrecked this page on the way home from California. We road tripped all the way from California to Alabama and stopped in every state along the way including a detour through Louisiana to eat in New Orleans and experience the liveliness of the historic town. It was an unforgettable trip and I'm so glad we wrote these little things down and now I'll remember them forever.

Glue in pages from a magazine.Circle words you like.

My friend Corrie Wrecked this beautiful page. I spent this summer working with her and I'm so thankful for her friendship. She wrote a sweet note at the bottom of her page that makes it even sweeter!

Close the journal, write/scribble something on the edges.

This part of my journal is pretty special. I traveled to San Diego California this past spring break with my best friend to visit her aunt and explore the west coast! Casey and our other friends had spring break the week before me so I flew in later to meet them. This page was completed by a sweet lady I met on my flight to California. Her name is Suzi Allen and I'll never forget our conversation or that she invited me to stay with her and her husband in Vegas anytime I was in the area. Thank you Suzi for being unforgettable kind to me and I'll never forget our flight!

Doodle over top of this page.

I chose to doodle the logo for The World Race.
The World Race is a Year long mission trip around the world. Visiting 11 countries in 11 months meeting the need of people across the globe. Serving "the least of these" while among real and raw community. Its a challenging adventure for people ages 21-35 to abandon worldly possessions and traditional lifestyle in exchange for an understanding that it's not about you; it's about the Kingdom.

This is my dream. I have applied to launch next September and just had my interview last week. I should know in the next two weeks whether or not I've been accepted. Please join me in prayer for this journey of a lifetime.

Collect Fruit Stickers here.

Its odd to see a collection of fruit stickers. Its also good to see how much fruit a person does or does not consume. I didn't start on this page until July. Its apparent by by collection that I really like Avocados, Bananas, Apples and spaghetti squash.

Tear this page out. Put it in your pocket and wash it.

I sent this page to Paul in the mail. He is studying Occupational Therapy at ASU. Some of his classes involve a human anatomy/ cadaver lab. So logically he washed this page with his scrubs from lab. I have yet to open this bag in fear of smelling formaldehyde.

On the other page is a sticker with small flowers from a wonderful boquet of flowers from my first  preliminary pageant this year.

 Thanks Paul!

Glue Random items here.

I cleaned my desk for this page.
As you can tell from the last few post that I really find great Joy from the word of God. I continue to pull from scripture for my inspiration and looking through my journal it truly is like my own personal handmade book of devotion.
There is another page in this journal with the instructions to rip out your favorite page and give it to a friend. If I followed the "rules" this is the page I would give away.

Summers Page for her brother. Instructions? Poke holes in this page using a pencil.

A wonderful sorority sister of mine completed this page. I passed the journal off to her one day in statistics. I seriously could not have survived that semester without her by my side struggling every day to understand what was going on in that class.

Summer lost her brother Ryan in the summer of 2012 and she dedicated this page to him.

   Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the spirit is Love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Against such things there is no law.

Pour,spill,drip,spit,fling,your coffee here.

I dated this page January 3rd. Its been almost a year and I'm excited to almost be done with this journal!
The instructions on this page are
Pour, spill, drip, spit, fling, your coffee here.
So that's exactly what I did. I wrecked this page with my best friend Casey when we were waiting at the car dealership for my oil to be changed!
I can easily recall the repair men laughing at us using the coffee pot to stain the pages of this journal!

Wipe your feet, jump up and down.

I have passed my Journal off to so many people this past year. My goal is for it to be full of memories of friends and trips and places and good things!

The first page I want to share with you is one from the beginning of the year.
The instructions for this one? Stand Here. (wipe your feet, jump up and down.)
And this is how I did it.

Let the Journal Begin

My Wreck this Journal journey!

For anyone who's ever wished to, but had trouble starting, keeping, or finishing a journal or sketchbook comes Wreck This Journal, an illustrated book that features a sweet collection of prompts, asking readers to muster up their best mistake- and mess-making abilities to fill the pages of the book (and destroy them). Acclaimed illustrator Keri Smith encourages journalers to engage in "destructive" acts-poking holes through pages, adding photos and defacing them, painting with coffee, and more-in order to experience the true creative process. Readers discover a new way of art and journal making-and new ways to escape the fear of the blank page and fully engage in the creative process.

This Blog is an assignment for my final communications class. The assignment? Choose a topic that interest you and create a blog. Since I've included so many people in on my Wreck this journal journey I decided this would be a fun documentary of my year!

I hope you enjoy and become inspired to start your own!
